Janna's Dedication

Recently we had Janna Rose Dedicated. This was such a Special day! I was so excited because we Love our new Church, New Song, and we really enjoy the pastor. So we knew the day would be so great. Joshua's dedication was also special, we had him dedicated at our old church, but at that time we did not have God Parents for him. We knew that we wanted to choose God Parents, but at that time in our lives we were not ready to make that decision. We knew that it was a big one to make. When we discussed about it, we had decided that we would want a married couple, who live their lives with Christ, a couple who would set a Christ example for our kids, and who would be people that our kids look up to and Respect. With that said after much discussion, and many prayers we decided to choose our very close friends Melissa and Shaheen to be the God Parents of our children. Melissa and Shaheen were already playing that role for our children with out the title. They are both very important people in Joshua and Janna's life. They are like family, and they invest time in the lives of our children on a regular basis. We are so blessed to have people like them in our lives!

With that said, it was so special to have Melissa and Shaheen at Janna's Dedication. Along with them we had a great group of family and friends who were all there to support us in the dedication. We are so blessed to have such a great support team.
After the service everyone came back to our house. It was such a beautiful day, and we celebrated with food, and visiting in our back yard.

We would like to thank everyone who joined us for this very special day.

HPOE

With Joshua's new schedule we have really enjoyed going to the Happiest Place on Earth (HPOE), Disneyland. :) We have season passes, and like to go for a few hours each week. J is at the age where he is also really loving it. He likes all the rides that he is big enough to go on, and he really likes the characters. We have so much fun there, its a great place for us to go enjoy as a family.

The kids really enjoy their Uncle Joey. Joey is Julie's brother, and he is real good with them. Here are some pics of Uncle Joey teaching J how to skateboard, and Janna hanging out in the tree to watch!

Alumni Water Polo Game

Just after the new year Melissa and Julie visited their Alma mater for an Alumni water polo game. The alumni compete in a game against the current Varsity team. Over the years Julie always trys to go. In past years she has played except when she was pregnant. This year she opted out on playing. She said that there were much younger alumni that would get the job done. They sure did. The alumni team won after two overtime periods. It was a fun game to watch! Here are some pics of the kids at the game, maybe one day they too will play Julie's Favorite sport!

New Years Eve

Last year we had our friends Melissa and Shaheen over for New Years Eve, and we did Fondue. So when figuring out what to do this year Melissa and Julie came up with the idea that we should do that again, and kinda make it a tradition. It will be a flexible tradition depending on Joshua and Shaheens work schedule but its a good one. This year we went to Melissa and Shaheens house. Melissa recently received a fondue pot, and we also have one so it was nice to have dinner using one, and then dessert using the other. It was great fun, and great conversation. We talked a bit about our goals for the next year. It is always good to share them! It kinds helps keep you accountable during the year. Shaheen had to leave for work, and Joshua had to leave to get sleep for work in the morning..so from about 9pm on Melissa and Julie hung out in Baby Lincolns room. They were busy organizing it for his arrival. He should be arriving sometime at the end of January. The Jahangards are going to be starting this new year off with their little bundle of joy. We are in great anticipation of his arrival. Julie especially can not wait to see her best friend as a Mommy, and meet Lincoln. Here are some of our pics from the evening. This might be different from others new years eve's but for us it was perfect!

This was our Dessert, for some reason we did not get a picture of dinner but it was all good!

J just loves Kailee. Kailee is Melissa and Shaheens dog. She is so good with J.

Janna 4 Months old

Janna is now 4 months old. We can not believe how fast time has flown by. She is such a sweet little girl. We are having so much fun with her. She is pretty active with her toys at this age. She loves to swing her hands and them, and is able to grip them. She also does well with tummy time, and she can hold her head up pretty high. She is a pretty strong little girl. She loves J, he makes her smile and laugh. J loves his little sister too, he loves to take pictures with her. Here are some 4 months pictures !

We took her to the Doctors for her 4 month check up. We love our pediatrician, she is so great with the kids. She checked Janna out and gave us the details.
Janna is now 13 lbs 10 oz. And she is 25 inches long. She is pretty tall for her age. Dr. says she seems very happy for her age and she is on track and even a little advanced for her development. Janna had no problem, she just let the Dr. do all that she needed too. She did not put up a fuss at all. At the end of the appointment J gave Janna kisses cause she was about to get her shots. These are not pleasant, but its just part of the procedure.

Out of My comfort Zone!

After Christmas we heard Julie's Mom talking about a hike they were planning on going on. We shared that we were interested, and we were invited. We like to take any opportunity to hike, we love it and the kids seem to also. This particular hike was called Ice house Canyon near Mt. Baldy. We knew this would be different from others because it was December and pretty brisk outside, so we bundled up. When we started on the hike we quickly realized it was much different then we thought. The trail was covered in not only snow, but it had melted and then re froze, so a lot of it was ice.Joshua was carrying J in the hiking backpack, and Julie was carrying Janna in the front carrier. It was not too far into the hike when Julie said out loud that she was out of her comfort zone. She continued to say that throughout the hike. Points of it were quite scary because it is one thing to slip, but neither of us wanted to slip with the kids connected to us. We were taking it really slow. As the hikers were coming down we asked what the conditions were like up ahead. We were wondering if we should continue or just turn around. All the hikers re assured us it would get better up ahead. It did get much better. And the further we went the more beautiful it became. The only thing is we had to go back down the same path at some point. That was when it was scariest, because we were then going down an icy path which is much harder then going up. We took our time. We usually time our hikes well so that Janna is fed before and we have time, so she will make it till we are done too feed her again. But this time we were taking so long to be extra careful Julie had to sit on the changing pad in the snow to nurse Janna. Janna was such a trooper. We took this little break to feed and re evaluate how we were going to get down. Dennis was holding on to Julie the whole way just in case she lost footing with Janna. We all thought there must be another way. So we decided to go off of the path, and walk in the more powder like snow. This was much easier. The only problem was the path led us back to our car. As we kept going on the powder we knew we were getting close to the car, and when we looked around the only way to get where our cars were was to kinda go thru the backyard of a cabin. We thought nothing of it cause we thought the owners would be understanding of us and the situation. This was not the case. Lets just say we ended the hike by running out a gate, to get to our car and we were being chased by a very angry old lady. Apparently we had trespassed in her backyard, and she was not ok with it. Well it ended with lots of laughs, and were were glad to be back to our cars. Not sure if we are ever going to do that type of hike again, maybe if we had spikes on our shoes or something like that. But sometimes its good to be out of our comfort zone. Here are some pictures from our Hike. Enjoy! After our Hike we went to Costco J was tired you will see a picture of him sleeping in the cart kinda funny! Thought we would share.

Janna's First Christmas

This was Janna's First Christmas. It was much different then J's first Christmas because she is so young, and with J his first Christmas was all about him. This year it seemed to still be very focused on him because he is starting to understand much more. Once again this year he was not too excited about sitting with Santa, but he was very excited about the presents Santa brought. We started off our Christmas Celebrations the Friday before when we went to Grandpa Halls house, to have Christmas dinner, and gifts around the tree. Next we went Great Grandma Patricks house on Christmas eve. The whole family was there, J loves playing will his cousins. We had a great time together as a family. This year we figured out that J can reach the Candy table...so we had to keep a good eye on him! We ended that evening with the candlelight service at church. This is one of my favorite parts of Christmas, this year the kids were in service with us so that was also special :) Grammy, Papa, Great Grandma, Grandpa, Auntie Linda, Uncle Paul, Johnny, and Danny all joined us! It was great to have everyone there.

Christmas Morning we woke up, and read the Christmas story as a family. This is a tradition that we wanted to start with our family. J loves reading so he was very excited about it. He was also very excited to read about "baby Jesus". He mentions Jesus a lot these days. We then opened stocking, and took turns with gifts. We also had our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. We started the traditional breakfast when we first got married, and we both really look forward to it. Grammy and Papa also stopped by to share in the giving, they really enjoyed watching the kids enjoy Christmas.
In the afternoon we went to Joshua's Grandmas house. We had a great time with his family, and we had a wonderful time opening gifts, and eating yummy food.
Joshua's sister Missy was also there it was nice to visit and celebrate.
We finished our Christmas Celebration with the yearly Christmas Extravaganza at Julie's Moms house. We ate lots of food. Played a game called rob your neighbor that we play every year, and the Big Man Santa came to visit on his way back to the North Pole. Again it was a great time with family.
