Our Christmas Card/Birth Announcment and Poem

A Christmas Poem
by Joshua Taflinger
(Read in your head by William Shatner)

‘Twas the morning of Christmas and I at work,
The Senior Officers had the day off, oh what a perk;
Over a year now, since I graduated the academy,
We had two little kids then, but now we have three;

Jadyn Elizabeth, what a bundle of joy,
Joshua and Janna love her more than their favorite little toy;
Those two have grown up way too fast,
But we love being parents, oh what a blast;

Joshua is three now, almost turning four,
With a smile on his face as he walks through his pre-school door;
Janna is over a year and loves to run,
What an awesome girl, and so much fun;

For Julie, Mom to Mom is the place to be,
As she joins the ladies at church for a cup of tea;
Bikers for Christ is my ministry of choice,
As we share the Word of God with our voice;

2009 is almost gone; time sure has flown by,
It brought a smile to our face and a tear to our eye;
Thankful and blessed is how we feel,
That’s what we pray before our meal;

Warm in their jammies, sitting under the tree,
Opening their presents, excited with glee;
This house is getting smaller, it feels so tight,
But with all love we share, it feels so right;

They might not know it, so young and so small,
The greatest gift was Jesus that died for us all;

Like the wise men, be led by the star so bright,
From us to you,
Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Meeting the Little Sister

This time around was a bit different. Joshua and Janna were not able to come to the Hospital to meet little Jadyn. I was very upset about it, but really it was better for them. Because of the swine Flu they are not allowing any visitors under 18 and really they are very strict on it. I tried and tried and no luck. So I hurried and made sure we could get out of the hospital as quick as possible because Jadyn had a very anxious big brother and big sister who were ready to meet her. It was great! They walked in the house, and were looking for her :) She was in the Bassinet and Janna was trying to climb in! J could not wait to see her. He said she looked like him, and really wanted to know if she had that "thing" on her belly button. He remembered from Janna. Janna wanted to lay on Jadyn that is how she shows love to her Dolls. It was such a special time, the kids were pretty gentle, and very very loving!

Jadyn Elizabeth

Jadyn Elizabeth Taflinger
Born November 30th 2009 at 8:29pm
8 pounds 13 ounces 21 inches

The story:
So this is how it went....I waited and waited and then on he morning of November 30th I was induced to go into Labor. We were all ready for her grand entrance. With Joshua and my mom by my side we waited and waited for what seemed like forever. Progression was slow in the beginning. It took all day to get to 3 cm dilated. It was almost 8 pm and we were not even sure she was going to come that day. Then within 30 minutes I was dilated to 10cm and she was out. The midwife told me to do a practice push, and then she said here comes her head! I actually kind of did not believe her and started laughing (of course I had an epidural). So now the joke is I laughed her out. Below are the beautiful pictures! We are incredibly blessed to have a precious healthy baby girl to add to our family.
